Photo and neo-realism in Italy, 1945-1965.
Dates: 18 January 2012 - 26 February 2012, Moscow.
"A new exhibition at the ""Center of Photography of Lumiere brothers, ""is devoted to the origins of neo-realism in Italy, appeared as a reaction to fascism and the defeat in the war that determined the direction for the development of not only Italian, but the whole of European art in the second half of XX century. The exhibition features 127 works of famous and not so photographers as: Luigi Krochentsi, Italo Dzanera, Tony Del Tina, Nino Milliori, Luciano Ferri and others.
The main idea behind the direction of the founder of neo-realism - Luigi Krochentsi lies in the fact that the photo should be the language, mode of transmission of the story, the same as cinema, literature and music. Rows of images in a darkened hole are like a continuous film, each frame of which creates its own history. There are no accents in these stories, full of movement: the viewer sees the silhouettes, those elements of architecture, landscape - all close, without any extra space.
